Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Issue Comment Edited: (SRAMP-15) URI syntax for models and artifacts

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/SRAMP-15?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=26466#action_26466 ]

Randall Hauch edited comment on SRAMP-15 at 10/26/11 9:53 AM:
--------------------------------------------------------------

The following sections in the (original) Foundations document use the explicit URL format:

Section 2.6 "Referencing S-RAMP Artifacts" - this section actually describes the /s-ramp/{artifactModel}/{artifactType} syntax, describes what's allowed and not allowed, and lists the various Artifact Model and Artifact Types, and gives several examples. This section could possibly be removed, or if deemed still needed would need to be rewritten or highly modified to describe how the URLs are defined by the binding, and to point to the Atom Binding document's ServiceDocument. The table of various Artifact Model and Artifact Types may need to be moved to a new Appendix.

Section 4.2 "Query Expression Predicates" - this section defines "pathExpression" as "/s-ramp/{artifactModel}/{artifactType}" and thus would need to be made more generic. It also gives several examples with particular artifact models and types, and these could be changed to assume that if the artifact types were available at that URL, then the examples would work (but again to note that the actual URLs are stipulated for the Atom Binding by its Service Document.

Section 4.4 "S-RAMP Query Grammar" - this section outlines the actual grammar for the query language, and the "location-path" rule would need to be made more generic.

> Artifact URLs have the type encoded in them. Having /s-ramp/{artifactModel}/{artifactType} should not
> be required. Instead this should be inferred from the ServiceDocument and would allow for implementers
> to define their own URL's.
