Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (SRAMP-23) Editing of existing relationships prohibited

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/SRAMP-23?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=29505#action_29505 ]

Vincent Brunssen commented on SRAMP-23:
---------------------------------------

Relationship editing should be prohibited and it needs to be reviewed that it is clearly specified in the Atom Binding spec. The group just needs to review and agree that this is the case and if we can agree then we can close this issue.

> Project: OASIS SOA Repository Artifact Model and Protocol (S-RAMP) TC
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Components: Atom Binding
> Affects Versions: 1.0

> If I remember correctly, the reason for prohibiting edits for existing relationship entries was because it was determined that the atom:id for the entry document may be generated based on a combination of:
> 1) The id of the source object
> 2) The name of the relationship
> 3) The id of the target object
> If editing of relationship entries were permitted by the S-RAMP Atom Binding this would imply that the atom:id of the entry document would need to change. This is prohibited by Atom/AtomPub.
