Subject: RE: [saf] SAF Purpose statement - summary
Many good points here. On point however. In all honesty, I don't think it matters how IT-centric financial is because their business is money, not IT. In a sense, most business today is very IT centric. Yet another candidate phrase: "SAF is a catalog-based, XML knowledge framework that enables problem remediation, prevention and optimization of the operational and business characteristics of complex systems. The framework has applicability to both IT domains, e.g., cloud computing, service management, governance, and security as well as non-IT domains, e.g., energy, eGov, financial, healthcare, manufacturing, and more." Guessing that would include Television stations, Newspaper/Magazine publishers, Radio stations, etc. It may include companies that are decidedly not in the business of IT. But the categorization of domains does become blurred. How do you categorize Visa or Mastercard? Most would put them under "Financial", but the closer reality is they are IT companies. -----Original Message----- From: Yasuhide Matsumoto [mailto:ymatsumo@jp.fujitsu.com] Sent: Thursday, February 04, 2010 12:38 PM To: saf@lists.oasis-open.org Subject: Re: [saf] SAF Purpose statement - summary communication is non-IT domains or IT domains? if communication includes twitter,e-mail,phone.etc, it is IT domains ,isn't it.
