Report to TC and Other Items

Hi all,

I'm back from vacation to find that, as happens every month, the SAF TC call coincides with the DMTF Board call. This month, it also coincides (next week) with the Eclipse Board call, so regrets for June 10th and 17th, I'm afraid. At least for me, that TC meetings at this time are very difficult. When I manage to show up, I intend to propose moving the TC call to another day, if a time slot could be found that was equally convenient for all (and as good as the Thursday slot). For example, how you all would feel about 16:00 on Mondays?

I have uploaded a new version of the PPT for your consideration. So far, I've just updated the problem statement in first 5 slides, rationalized business/technical problem statements, breaking apart the domains, reorganizing, and eliminating distinction between subtle and not-so-subtle business conditions, since we don't use the difference in our SAF scenario and it just confuses people. I believe we agreed to also place files (and minutes) as attachments to emails, so the PPT is attached. 

Lastly, I agree concentrating on Cloud profile work, which we best understand, is probably most productive. As you know, DMTF is still working on transitioning the Incubator work to (possibly) one WG. To establish an alliance with DMTF, I suggest we continue to develop the Cloud Profile for both OCCI and the DMTF interfaces, as they current exist. I will continue to work as best I can on the presentation and the work register.

hopefully tomorrow it will be all of us in the call, so this might be a chance to finalize the slidedeck (?)

Also, I think we should spend some time in discussing resource management automation with SAF, to go in the Cloud profile, since this is the area we can really contribute concrete stuff (due to lack of expertise in some other areas, e.g. energy management, etc). We can discuss some symptom flows and some OCCi specific protocols (which are mostly there I think).

Thoughts?
