It's part of metadata resolution. I guess the idea is if I enter something
that contains my IdP's entityID, you could resolve it into the necessary
information.

Note that the XRI spec offers a similar kind of solution. If you had an XRI
for each user that they knew, they could enter it into your SP and it could
resolve into the IdP.
