Subject: ISSUE 36: Compatability of component type side files

http://www.osoa.org/jira/browse/ASSEMBLY-36

On Jan 10, 2008, at 12:24 PM, Michael Rowley wrote:

RAISER: Michael Rowley

TARGET: SCA Assembly Specification WD02 section 4.1 Component Type

DESCRIPTION:

The current specification states:

"Component type information found in the component type file must be compatible with the equivalent information found from inspection of the implementation.”

However, the specification does not define what it means to be “compatible”.  This should be clarified.  It may also be appropriate to allow for component type files to override some aspects of the generated component type.

The section should also clarify whether every implementation type must allow for component type side files.  It already says:
The location of the component type file depends on the type of the component implementation: it is described in the respective client and implementation model specification for the implementation type.”

But it does not explicitly say that every implementation type must support them.

PROPOSAL:

 None given.
