Subject: NEW ISSUE: Graphical representation of wires in included composites
RAISER: TARGET: SCA Assembly Specification (no specific section) DESCRIPTION: SCA currently has no way of representing wires within a
composite that is intended to be included into a larger composite, if the
target of the wire is outside of the included composite. A very common variant of this scenario is that the composite
is a deployment composite, which will be “included” into the
logical domain composite. Its references have targets that refer to
already deployed components. In viewing such a deployment composite, there should be some
representation for the components that have references that are already wired,
to distinguish them from references that have not yet been wired. Preferably,
it should also represent the target of that wire. PROPOSAL: Nothing specific, although some kind of dotted or ghosted
representation for the components that are expected to be in the domain
composite (or any including composite) may be one way to handle it. |
