DESCRIPTION:

 

It is often valuable to have descriptions associated with components, services, references, bindings, etc.  XML comments are insufficient because they are often lost in the processing of XML.

 

PROPOSAL:

 

Include an optional <description> subelement in every element with a complex type that can be found in composites, component types, definitions files and contribution files.

 

It may be possible to accomplish this by creating an XSD parent type of all of these elements.
