Just raised the issue to note non-normative section

Good to have point raised - but there probably should be some normative statements

...I.E. if you are going to extend then you MUST do it this way

AnishK:

Lots of snippets and examples, all of which are (can only be) non-normative

BryanA:

Seems more likely that will need to add normative statements

...also probably applies equally to 1.1 (as well as 1.2)

EricJ:

At the time there was no other issues against 1.1 but does also apply

MikeE:

Not sure if this could be tested (effectivly)

EricW:

Not sure its a good idea to introduce "optional" and "untestable" parts back into spec

...having just spent weeks arguing over and removing existing options

Probably would be mandatory, but untestable
