New editor questions: What do I need?

Hi,

As a new editor, I'm unsure of the things I need to set up and the software I need to have installed. 

I've had a quick search around and could not find a "guide on how to be a SCA-J editor". As a result, I have a few questions :-)


I notice that the specification is produced in PDF and word. Do I need access to a PDF editor or are the PDFs created from MS Word documents?


Is there a particular version of MS Word that I should be using?
