Subject: Only one instance of a Modifier type per Element...

Folks,
Perhaps a strange title, but this is
to tie up a discussion we had during the Java call today.
I confirm that the Java Language Spec
does limit the occurrance of a given annotation on
an element such as a Class declaration
or a Method declaration.
Annotations are a form of Modifier and
the statement about modifiers associated with elements
say things like this:
"A compile-time
error occurs if the same modifier appears more than once in a class declaration."
Language checkers such as the one built
into Eclipse flag an error if you try to annotate a class
declaration with more than one instance
of @Confidentiality, for example.
Yours, Mike.
