Subject: Proposed Resolution for JAVA-224

Folks,

JAVA-224 proposes that we add support for the Dependency Injection mechanisms defined by JSR-330.

I propose that we resolve JAVA-224 as a Close with No Action.

The reason for this is as follows:

o JSR-330 is tied to JEE - it is part of JEE 6.

o JSR-330 is NOT part of any planned JSE release (as best I understand the release plans)

o JSR-330 comes with a legally problematic set of terms & conditions

The main Java CAA and Java POJO Implementation specs are deliberately only linked to JSE and are NOT
linked to JEE.  It is not desirable to tie either of these specifications to JEE.

We cannot tie SCA specifications directly to the JSR due to the unacceptable legal terms.  We can only
link to one of the formal releases of JSE or JEE.

These annotations should be considered for the Java EJB Implementation specification when we restart
work on that.

I think that we should reply to the raiser of the comment along the lines written above.

Yours, Mike
