AI review

20110307-03 Mike - Respond to PR comment re resolution of issue 227

PENDING

20110321-01 Anish - create a concrete proposal for 237

DONE

issue 237

JAVA-237 Spring C&I and support for annotations required by interface.java
http://osoa.org/jira/browse/JAVA-237

Anish explains his proposal.

Mike makes three points in his response
Bryan:
minor wording concern

... proposal uses 'required'. That is a 2119 keyword

Mike: how about replacing it with 'mandated'

... replace 'required' with 'mandated' in the proposal

motion: m:MikeE s:BryanA resolve 237 with proposal at http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/sca-j/201103/msg00047.html with 'required' replaced by 'mandated'
Resolution: 237 is resolved with proposal at http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/sca-j/201103/msg00047.html with 'required' replaced by 'mandated'

issue 228

Anish summarizes the issue
<Bryan Aupperle>
I have to drop off now.

Mike: within spring bean A depending on bean B means the whole bean B gets injected into A. There is no separation of interfaces

... In SCA we have made a distinction based on interfaces

... concern that this is strange for Spring

... we could just say you can't do > 1 remotable interfaces

... any name clash can be flagged as an error

agreements --

1) if the bean implements 0 remotable interfaces then the interface of the service is the class name and the name of the service is the bean name

2) if the bean implements exactly 1 remotable interface then the interface of the service is the remotable interface and the name of the service is the bean name

two alternatives for the rest --

alternative 1) if a bean implements >1 remotable interfaces that is an error. Use SCA extensions to fix that

alternative 2) if a bean implements >1 remotable interfaces then introspect one service for each remotable interface. The name of the service being the simple remotable interface name. If multiple beans in the same context implement the same remotable interface that is an error. Use SCA extensions to fix that

Mike: you prefer alternative 1
Anish:
i prefer alternative 1 as well
Action: Mike to produce proposal for issue 228 with alternative 1 (if bean implements >1 remotable interfaces that is an error. Use SCA extensions to fix that)
<Mike Edwards>
Also fix formatting issues like Reference formats
Action: Mike to clean up spring C&I spec wrt fixing formating issues (eg: reference format)
Action: Anish to provide Mike with list of names for the ACK section

Mike: might want to wait for the TA and TC for spring before PR of the spec
Anish:
let's get an estimate, if this is going to happen with 2 weeks then we can wait else would be better to get feedback early
