Subject: Minutes from SDD TC Meeting, June 15
- From: Thomas Studwell <studwell@us.ibm.com>
- To: sdd@lists.oasis-open.org
- Date: Sun, 26 Jun 2005 06:15:29 -0400
There were no volunteers for note taker so this week's minutes are the result of my mediocre notes.
- Meeting began at 7PM ET
- Roll call was held, 55% voting member attendance, quorum was reached.
- Minutes from June 1, SDD TC were accepted.
- We began the collection of Use Cases with James Falkner presenting Sun's proposed Use Cases.
- Tom Studwell stated that the current mode of Use Case discussion should be brainstorming mode so discussion should focus on clarification and understanding of the Use Case, not evaluation of appropriateness for SDD. We will do that filtering at a later phase after all Use Case proposals are gathered. Use Cases will be used to establish requirements for SDD developed specifications as well as requirements that may be fed to other standards development workgroups (eg, Use Cases that describe operations using SDD TC standard but may be implemented via other standards).
- James' Use Case document included a Glossary in the beginning and we discussed using this as our strawman Glossary. Tom Studwell agreed to incorporate James' Glossary into a separate Draft Glossary document that will be a living document throughout the specification development phase.
- Case 2 relating to Globalization there was a recognition that there were two aspects to globalization - ability to include multiple languages within the installable unit, and the ability of the installable unit to selectively install language specific installations. - discussion between James and Christine.
- Case 5 should be retitle use case to "Automating a Manual Installation". - studwell
- Case 7 allow for case to identify irreversible steps.
- We completed review through Case 18 and will continue with Case 19 at next meeting.
- Meeting was closed at 8PM ET.
