Regardless of how well thought out the use cases and requirements are for the SDD, new use cases and changes in technology and the technology landscape will drive additional requirements after the SDD is published.  The SDD needs to be constructed in such a way that it is possible to modify or add additional schema elements and still provide for runtimes and tooling to support backwards compatibility of packages.
