Hi
all,
I'd taken an action
item to suggest more detail on our approach for writing the specification.
I wanted to make sure that we proceed from real-world scenarios as much as
possible. I'm not sure the exact order we should take but I thought at
least the following should be done in some order:
- Review &
understand submissions (classifying them and identifying best-of-breed
characteristics)
- Define set of
real-world scenarios which represent our use cases, e.g.:
- "deploying a
distributed enterprise application using existing
middleware"
- "applying a
firmware update"
- "checking
dependencies of a localized installation"
- and many
more
- Model the scenarios
with examples according to the designs
- Refine based on
success of requirements met
- Write specification
document based on refined design
Thanks,
Josh
