Subject: Various items to note

SDD TC,
Because we had rather sparse attendance
at yesterday's call, I wanted to follow up to amplify some of the items
noted in the meeting minutes that I don't want to slip past you (please
duly note these!):
- All members have an action item to survey
and share information about how their company's fixes are packaged/deployed/described,
so that we can capture appropriate information for fixes in the SDD specification.
PLEASE GIVE YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS over the next couple weeks and send
information to Randy so that he can generate a detailed proposal.
- Call to review PackageDescriptor changes
with Fukui-san was held last evening as scheduled. Minutes posted to the
TC Web page.
- James and I had a teleconference with
representatives from the OASIS XACML TC to discuss potentially referencing
XACML in SDD. They agreed that this proposal from James has merit and the
XACML TC co-chairs will join us for our meeting next week (Nov. 9). PLEASE
MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ATTEND NEXT WEEK'S MEETING to discuss this important
topic.
- The Nov. 16 TC call will be cancelled;
instead, we will allot that time slot for a non-TC informal non-member
briefing as discussed in previous meetings. All TC members are invited
to attend.
- Please note that OASIS is considering
a proposal for possible changes to OASIS TC voting rules to cap the number
of votes a single company may cast (the proposal includes various alternative
ways that this might be done). If you have an opinion on this item, PLEASE
POST IT BY NOV. 20 at the OASIS discussion list here: http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/oasis-member-discuss/email/archives/200610/msg00000.html
- The ballot for selecting the date for
our next in-person meeting is now open -- PLEASE VOTE at the SDD TC Web
page.
Thanks very much.
Regards,
Brent
