Subject: No SDD TC Call Today

SDD TC,
I've been advised of some absences from
today's call, and we don't have significant updates on current proposals,
nor any new proposals, so I don't think that taking people's time for a
call today is merited.
Hence, today's call is cancelled.
Some updates we can take care of via
this e-mail:
- The ballot for our charter clarification
completed successfully, and the charter has been updated on our TC Public
Page. Thanks to Mary McRae of OASIS Staff.
- The ballot for SDD v1.0 as an OASIS
Standard is open. At least 15% of the 296 voting members (45 people) must
cast a ballot for the vote to be valid. As of now, we have only 10 votes
cast (most by TC member companies...thanks to everyone for encourating
you company's voting representative to cast a ballot). The ballot closes
August 31; I'll be keeping tabs on its progress.
- I have contacted the Chairs of the OASIS
SCA-Assembly TC to request the joint discussion that our TC agreed to pursue.
Stay tuned.
- PLEASE, PLEASE try to find some time
to work on proposals to bring to the TC. The list of candidate items, with
many assigned to TC members, is here: http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/sdd/download.php/28686/OASIS%20SDD%20TC%20-v1.1%20Candidate%20Items-06262008.xls
. Even initial "discussion" proposals are valuable; these need
not be complete and comprehensive for a "first reading".
- It might be time to consider an in-person
meeting. Please think about this (especially if your company might be willing
to host such a meeting); I'll put this on the agenda for discussion next
week.
If there are other items of note, please
send e-mail.
We'll resume regular calls next week.
Thanks.
Regards,
Brent
