Some installations require certain roles/privilieges to succeed. Some time ago, we discussed a generalized proposal to specify in the SDD metadata the required roles/privileges, perhaps using XACML for this representation. However, current use cases surface a much simpler subset of this issue, namely, whether or not "root", or "administrator", role/privileges are required for installations. TC decided to first pursue this simpler portion of the issue and revisit a more general solution if implementation experience merits.
