Subject: Re: [sdd] UPDATE: SDD Ballots

SDD TC Voting Members,

Apparently the automatically generated emails from OASIS about these ballots being opened did not go out (at least I did not receive them).

THEREFORE, PLEASE GO TO THE TC BALLOTS PAGE: http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/sdd/ballots.php  AND CAST YOUR VOTE FOR EACH OF THE 4 OPEN BALLOTS.

Sorry about this, and thank you!

Regards,
Brent

Subject:        [sdd] SDD Ballots

SDD TC,

After some delays caused by various things, we are now ready to move forward with our SDD v2.0 deliverables. I wanted to send this email to, I hope, ensure that the TC's next actions are clear.

Shortly, you will be receiving email notices that 4 ballots have been opened. These ballots are:

1.        A ballot to approve the current specification, schema and namespace documents as a Committee Specification Draft (CSD). You might recall that awhile back, we approved these same documents as CSD 01 and successfully completed a public review of these materials. However, Merri noticed that some of the URIs in those documents were incorrect, and the OASIS process specifies that we must approve the updated version as CSD02 and re-submit it for public review. These documents have not had any substantive changes; the changes were just corrections.
2.        A ballot to approve the current SDD Primer as a non-standards-track Committee Note Draft (CND). The Primer has not substantively changed since it was last reviewed; this will be the first TC vote to move it forward in the process as CND01.
3.        A ballot to approve the current SDD Starter Profile as a non-standards-track Committee Note Draft (CND). The Starter Profile has not substantively changed since it was last reviewed; this will be the first TC vote to move it forward in the process as CND01.
4.        A ballot to approve the current SDD Examples as a non-standards-track Committee Note Draft (CND). The Examples have not substantively changed since it was last reviewed; this will be the first TC vote to move it forward in the process as CND01.

Please note that these are separate ballots for each of the individual deliverables. In each case, the precise document(s) that is (are) the subject of the ballot is (are) cited as a reference in the ballot. Each ballot will remain open for one week. Each ballot requires a Full Majority to pass (that is, more than 50% of all voting members must vote "Yes" for the ballot to pass).

Assuming that these ballots are approved, please be aware that a second set of similar ballots will be opened to vote on submitting the approved CSD and CNDs for public review (this is a separate step in the process).

It is very important that all voting members vote, so please cast your vote (sooner rather than later is preferred).

Thanks to Merri for her diligent review and update of all of these documents to prepare them for this vote, and thanks to the OASIS TC Admins (Robin Cover and Chet Ensign) for their help in getting these ready for voting.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thank you.

Regards,
Brent
