Subject: Directions from Park-Inn@Alexanderplatz to SAP offices
Hi, I wanted to give a brief description of how to get to our offices from the Park-Inn Hotel, where most of you will be staying while in Berlin. I really do not recommend renting a car. Taking a taxi is always a possibility, in which case you can simply tell the driver to go to the corner of Rosenthaler Strasse and Gipsstrasse. You can also take the subway (U-Bahn). There are actually 3 lines that all intersect at Alexanderplatz. The stations for each are connected by tunnels. You have to take the U-8 (the U-8 symbol is colored dark blue) in the direction Wittenau. You need to buy a ticket from one of the yellow machines, and stamp the ticket before boarding the train. Since you are only going one station, you need only a "kurzstrecke" (short way) ticket, that costs 1.20 Euro. Like I said, go one station, direction Wittenau, and get off at Weinmeisterstrasse. Leave the underground in the direction of travel, and you come up directly across the street from our offices. If you walk, it's about a 10 minutes away. Leave the hotel in the direction away from the television tower, that is, in the north-easterly direction, and enjoy the typical Berlin construction site...you'll pass more on your way. Turn left when you walk out the door and just keep going. Although the street changes names a few times, from Alexanderplatz, to Memhardtstrasse, to Muenzstrasse, to Weinmeisterstasse, you just keep going straight. I hope you'll recognise the building from the SAP logo in the second story window. Here's a map: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=de&geocode=&time=&date=&ttype=&q=rose nthaler+strasse+30,+berlin&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=50.291089,81.7382 81&ie=UTF8&ll=52.52523,13.403406&spn=0.019034,0.039911&z=15&iwloc=addr&o m=1 The arrow for the building is a little inaccurate... We're really at the corner of Rosenthaler and Gipsstrasse. Once at our offices, tell whoever is at the desk (probably Vera or Corinna) you want to go to the SDO Face-to-Face. She will send you up to the 5th floor. I hope everyone had a nice holiday, and will have a pleasant journey, and look forward to seeing you! Best Regards, Ron
