Subject: [sdo] [SDO-30]: Ability to disable change tracking for certainnodes in the data object tree
Steve Brodsky [27/Apr/06 06:38 PM] Could you give an example? Also, what happens for some edge cases, when there is a relationship between tracked and not tracked objects? Containment, bidirectional references, and references to and from track & non-tracked? Omar Halaseh [08/May/06 08:37 PM] Can you please clarify your edge cases? Why is containment dependent on change summary? One of the use cases for us, is if the group agreed that Type & Property are data objects, then we would like to disable change tracking for them. Steve Brodsky [12/May/06 01:12 AM] The change summary that tracks a DataObject is determined by containment. If a DataObject is removed from a data graph and then added to a different data graph, it is be tracked by different change summaries. Any objects that cannot be changed (Type and Property after define for example) would not need change tracking because there would be no allowed changes that could get tracked. Also it would be very unusual to put Type and Property into a data graph.
