Subject: Re: [search-ws] Three things

Hi Mary - yes, I suppose there was a misunderstanding.

So I take from what you are saying that we should not use the -dev list for
purposes of active discussion about the development of the standard.

And the comments list should not really be used for that purpose either?

We do need to have a list where non-members can discuss some of these
issues. Of course we can these individuals to join OASIS, or even the TC,
but even so there will be some who decline, and who need to be able to
participate to some extent in the discussion.

Would you advise then that we continue to carry public discussion over the
SRU list? I can of course point out to all those participating in the
discussion that once discussion comes to some resolution on any particular
point, they are urged to post their own comments to the comments list. Is
this the best way to proceed?

Thanks.

--Ray
