Explain
-------
Janifer had posted her Explain draft last week.

Autodiscovery. Discussion on how this would work in SRU. To be determined by the Explain subgroup who will continue to work on this.

Discussion of whether to proceed by extending Zeerex, or map this to Zeerex.

Discussion on whether search and scan are to be explained separately or together. That leads back to the earlier question of whether search and scan are different operations at the same endpoint (as in earlier versions) or they are at different endpoints and operations are eliminated (as in the current draft version). Consensus seems to be that they cannot be explained separately, however they can still be modeled as in the current draft. Tony suggests that we put back the operation parameter but make it optional. Ralph's notes that a scanClause is sufficient statement that the request is a scan operation. However it is not an explicit statement and relies on hueristics that may not work when new services are added.

Ashley suggests that there be a "how to" section added: if you want to do A, retrieve the file and look at B .... and show what the resulting URL looks like. Ashley will draft this section.

The Explain group for now will consist of Jan, Ralph, Tony, and Ashley. The will have a new draft for the next call.

Scan
---------
The Scan document has not been changed (or looked at) since December. It needs a fresh look. Ralph will go through it, revise it, and post a new draft.

OpenSearch
--------------------
The OpenSearch document similarly has been fairly dormant for several months. Tony will take charge of that effort, decide which direction, and revise accordingly. Ralph and Nick will work with Tony.

SOAP Binding
---------------------
Matthew will draft a SOAP binding, including WSDL, later this week.

SRU List Discussion
--------------------------------
The SRU and CQL 2.0 drafts were announced to the SRU list several weeks ago and there have been no comments and no discussion. Tony has planned to raise some issues there. Other TC members are encouraged to raise discussion on that list.

Errors
----------
Ray will start an error/change file, for future changes that need to be applied. Janifer had posted a message about a few errors.

Action Items
------------------
Jan, Ralph, Tony, Ashley - new explain draft. For review next call. Ashley to draft "how to" section.

Ralph - Scan

Tony, Ralph, Nick - OpenSearch

Matthew - SOAP, WSDL, etc.

Ray - Error/change file.

Next Call
---------------
September 14.
