Subject: RE: [search-ws] Fw: use of OpenSearch
I hope we have gotten past thinking that we are standardizing
OpenSearch in OASIS. Ralph From: Ray Denenberg,
Library of Congress [mailto:rden@loc.gov] Please
all see the message below to me from Carl Reed. We need to bring our
OpenSearch binding to closure as soon as possible as there seems to be growing
interest in what we are doing along these lines. Could each of you give
this some thought and weigh in. The
plan at present is to revise the current draft along the lines of recent
discussion. Tony is working on that. Tony,
what is the status of that revision? Will we be able to bring the
OpenSearch binding to CD at the same time as SRU and CQL (which should be in a
matter of a few weeks)? Thanks. --Ray -----

OpenSearch Ray - There is quite a discussion happening in the OGC regarding
OpenSearch. The Members wish to reference OpenSearch in terms of creating a
binding (extension) for use in the OGC Catalogue Service interface
standard. The question is what if any is the status of OpenSearch 1.1 in the
OASIS process - or are you simply referencing OpenSearch 1.1 in terms of the
ws-search binding that has been defined. Thanks and regards Carl Reed, PhD The OGC: Helping the World to Communicate Geographically --------------------- This communication, including attachments, is for the
