Isn't this what we had before (srw-types.xsd)?

And is there any reason not to continue to have one schema for the three
operations rather than one schema per operation (per endpoint (per
version))?

When you say SRU Response does that include or exclude 'scan"? Or was the
idea to have searchRetireve/explain at one endpoint and scan/explain at
another endpoint?
