Hal,    Good thought. I think it would be good to have a SAML-developers@oasis-open.org. Also as archives are maintained, folks can take a look at what has been discussed previously (most probably it would be more helpful for folks answering questions by referring to previous e-mails than anybody rigorously churning thru the archives before asking a question :o()    In short, definitely under OASIS and definitely a developers list.cheers

We propose the establishment of a developers' mailing list for exchange of information among individuals and groups implementing SAML.

Suitable topics for discussion would include, but not be limited to:

Questions about the interpretation of specifications.
Exchange of examples of messages and assertions.
Agreement on arbitrary values for interoperability.
Implementation problems and techniques.
Experiences with relevant tools.
Enhancements or corrections to conformance tests.
Posting of open source implementations.

I propose this be hosted at SAML, but it could be done somewhere else, such as yahoo groups if that is deemed more appropriate.

This seems closely related to conformance activities, so one option would be to reactivate the conformance list.

We are particularly interested in this, as like a number of others, we are interested in demonstrating interoperability at the Burton Group event this summer. It is our belief that distinct implementations of, for example the Browser profiles, will not interoperate without additional agreements not contained in the specs.
