Subject: Re: [security-services] Liberty IPR Issues
> Take this up in the WSS-TC please and maybe look for outside council to > resolve the wording I'm not concerned with the risks I run by implementing WSS. I was pointing out -- as others have -- that the grants made and positions taken by the WSS authors seem to be no different than the actions on the Liberty side. This TC does seem to be approaching consensus that this and WSS are comparable, in the IPR area, and therefore there is no reason for it not to be acceptable. I'm sure you're tired of doing this, but if IBM thinks otherwise, then I think more explanation would help the rest of us understand your concerns. One thing that does come to mind is that if IBM is a WSS author, and not a Liberty author, then they rights they have in WSS might be greater than as just a contributor. This is a different perspective than many of us have, not being an author of either. (Either author? either-or? :) Is that a concern? /r$ -- Rich Salz, Chief Security Architect DataPower Technology http://www.datapower.com XS40 XML Security Gateway http://www.datapower.com/products/xs40.html XML Security Overview http://www.datapower.com/xmldev/xmlsecurity.html
