It did appear in SAML 1.1 but only in an odd little corner. As far as I can tell the word has been imported from WSS, but it isn't defined anywhere in SAML documents. I am concerned that it may not mean in SAML exactly what WSS means by it. I would prefer to use a more concrete phrase like "the statements in the assertion" rather than defining yet another term, but if "claims" is to stay it needs a definition somewhere (and not just in the glossary IMHO). - RL "Bob"
