Well, not without some extra work :-)  I just uploaded a ZIP
containing HTML and GIF.  For the benefit of others, here's what I did
to create the HTML + GIF:

1. Cut the image from the ODT and saved the image to a separate ODT
doc (now linked in the wiki).

2. Saved the latter as HTML (which created HTML + GIF).

3. Exported the original doc (sans the image) to XHTML.

4. Manually inserted the HTML from step 2 into the XHTML created at step 3.

5. Bundled the modified XHTML from step 4 with the GIF from step 2 to
create the ZIP.
