I think we should discuss the issue raised during the Webinar and afterwards on the saml-dev list: should SAML consider supporting one or more Metadata formats other than XML? It is reported that the GFIPM Federation (US Dept of Justice) has moved to supporting non-XML Metadata in its SAML deployment. Also there is an intention to require some level of Metadata support in SAML 2.1.
