Subject: FW: Introduction to Ian Otto
FYI. For SSTC Telecon Tuesday 11 June 2013. ____________________________________________ From: security-services-chair@lists.oasis-open.org [mailto:security-services-chair@lists.oasis-open.org] On Behalf Of Makesh Rao (marao) Dear Nathan, Thomas I'm a co-chair of the ebXML Messaging Services Technical Committee. I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce Ian Otto who is a representative of the Australian Government's Department of Innovation. They are profiling ebMS /AS4 specs for use in business to government reporting although the profile will have wider applicability. It is an initiative of the Australian government focussed on reducing government reporting burden on business, in part by the use of standard interfaces for electronic exchange of information direct from the software packages used by business. Currently it involves a number of government agencies and multiple business software providers and Ian and team are proposing to use SAML under the Web Services Security SAML Token Profile for securing the ebMS messages as part of their proposal. Ian wanted to see if some folks on your TC can provide some comments on the proposal to use SAML. It will help validate that they are proceeding in the right direction. Would appreciate if you can circulate Ian's document (attached) among your TC so people can provide some comments. Thanks Makesh Rao |
