Response from conferenceUK.com - essentially a PFO... ~Mick -------- Original Message -------- Subject: RE: ConferenceUK Support Request Incident Nbr: 27573 Date: 15 Oct 2007 08:26:39 -0700 From: Conference Call Support <conference-support@telephony.com> Reply-To: Conference Call Support <conference-support@telephony.com> To: Mick Kerrigan <mick.kerrigan@deri.at> Hello Mick, I'm sorry if this is causing inconveniences for you and your participants. Unfortunately, any participants calling in Europe outside the UK will have to dial-in the US based phone number. As for the incident, this could have happened if the organizer accidentally change the mode of the conference from conversation to Q&A or Presentation mode. Here is a brief description of the three modes: In Conversation mode, all lines are open and unmuted. In Q-and-A mode, only Organizers can be heard, but non-Organizers can unmute their phone by hitting " 6 ". And in Presentation mode, non-Organizers are muted and have no option to unmute themselves. A voice prompt will alert you to the current mode each time you change the configuration. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance. Will Reed Conference Support Hi, We have been using your service for about 2 years on a monthly basis to host our OASIS technical committee calls. Most of our participants are based in the Austria, Germany and Ireland, with some in the UK. We have had two main problems: 1) Since the switch to the American dial-in number our call costs have gone up. Is there no European number of for non-uk Europeans to dial? 2) Today most of us were dialled into the American dial-in number and the UK partners were dialled into the UK number. We were all int he same room number but could not hear each other. The UK partners had to move to the US number in order for us to be able to communicate. Any assistance with these problems would be great Regards ~Mick ______________________________________________________________________ This email has been scanned by the MessageLabs Email Security System.
