Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (SOAEERP-5) PR05 - from ChunqingLi: What is the SLA in the SOA-EERP?

Propose Response to the Comments:

Chunqing,
Thanks for your comments.

The purpose of SLA is to establish the business service level agreement, which is an agreement between the service requester and service provider, so that a business application can manage and evaluate services according to the agreed business quality of service, obligations and terms. This agreement is on the business level, instead of on the protocol level.

The technologies like RMI and CORBA is the binding between the requester and the service provider on the protocol level. They will not address the business characteristics of a service such as cost, performance, quality and rating of the business service.

Best regards,

Andy Lee,
SOA-EERP TC Co-chair

> I have reviewed these three specs posted. They are very interesting. I have a question: what is the purpose of SLA in the real business application? Do the technologies like RMI and Corba can do the same thing as SLA?
