One ponders.... Is it really a "system" or an "ecosystem" when in the context of SOA? I believe that one of the principles of the internet, ebXML architecture, Web Services Architecture and the UN/CEFACT eBusiness Technical Architecture is that components can be added or removed without causing the system to fail as a whole. System to me indicates a set boundary whereas ecosystem infers a looser relationship.
