SOA Consortium Presents: SOA Governance Roundtable Podcast

The SOA Consortium™, where SOA Means Business™, is presenting a free podcast on SOA Governance issues. During the first European meeting of the SOA Consortium in June, several thought leaders held a roundtable discussion on the issues surrounding SOA Governance. The main objective of the SOA Governance Roundtable was to generate a meaningful conversation between those Thought Leaders and the meeting attendees on SOA Governance. The session was recorded and is now available as an on-demand audio podcast.

Roundtable participants gave five-minute overviews of their thoughts on the following:

  • SOA Governance Program Capabilities: ‘Top 3 key capabilities’ or ‘Three lesser known, but important capabilities’
  • Human Factors in SOA Governance: Such as, the impact of SOA governance on the governed, or governors, or the use of social computing tools/technologies for effective SOA governance
  • Best SOA Governance Practices from the Field: 2-3 best practices that their customers are employing
  • Ties to IT and Corporate Governance: Discuss how (or how not) SOA Governance relates to IT Governance and Corporate Governance

SOA Governance Thought Leaders were:

  • Fill Bowen, Marketing Manager, SOA Governance, IBM Software Group
  • Ed Cobb, VP-Architecture & Standards, Office of the CTO, BEA Systems
  • Christian Hastedt-Marckwardt, Solution Marketing Director, Enterprise SOA, SAP AG
  • Clive Read, SONA Program, Cisco Systems
  • Facilitator: Brenda Michelson, SOA Consortium Program Director

After the individual presentations, SOA Consortium meeting attendees joined the discussion with questions and comments.
