Subject: Re: [soa-rm-ra] Service Management Model (simplified) - Rev 2

Title: Re: [soa-rm-ra] Service Management Model (simplified) - Rev 2
Can we just leave that to the ISO 11179 specs, parts 1-6?  They have done extensive work on that.  Let’s not duplicate it but recommend it.

I just realized something: we must be able to account for managing artifacts -- such as service descriptions, policies etc., -- in our management model. We are not just managing services.

Folks,

In retrospect, I think cardinality is important in this model so I've updated the visual model to reflect this.

See:

In the text, we'll be expanding on the various types of manageability capabilities so again, it's important to show some cardinality here.

Danny, getting to your question about the specific types of manageability capabilities.  Actually, the relationship would be a specialization association rather than aggregation to reflect the different types of manageability capabilities.  I don't know if it's necessary to provide a visual model of this.

Cheers...
