orchestration and choreography after today's meeting

I expect Peter’s minutes will include more details and I have a recording if anyone wants to listen to the discussion.  In summary, we will stick with the thrust of the current (long standing) text with a few possible additions/clarifications, i.e. orchestration indicating external controller with full view of process, choreography with no controller and possibly more local view. 

 

The interesting thing was when we looked at Michael’s proposed changes to Figures 30 and 31, we saw the models, both original and modified, as basically service composition that did little to illustrate O or C.  For example, if a key difference is the external controller, where is that in Figure 30? 

 

The meeting ended with an action to all to reconsider these diagrams.  Michael noted that the current diagrams come from the WS-CDL spec, and we shouldn’t be limited to that.

 

So let’s see some innovative modeling J
