Subject: Editing and terminology
Dear all: I kept quiet during the call for editors, as it seems our TC wil be particularly well blessed with some excellent contributors. One issue that will be critically important for the success of our work will, IMO, be clear and unambiguous text and terminology. While I would not be comfortable (particularly in terms of time commitment) with any technical editing for any TC spec or doc, I would be prepared to join the editing team, if this were considered useful, to look specifically at: - readability and understandability (particularly from a non-specialist angle); - coherence in use of terminology; - presence of unambiguous definitions for key terminology used (building and maintaining an agreed glossary of terms, etc) I believe that this is all the more important for a work that intends to be a reference model. Best regards, Peter Brown
