Subject: Update on F2F outcomes...
Folks, First off, this has been perhaps the most productive TC meeting that I have ever witnessed in the hand full of years I have been working within OASIS. Thanks to everyone for working in a cooperative and collegial fashion to work toward our mutual goals. I'll go in point form from here on out...there is a lot to say. 1. All issues on 07 are CLOSED. Yay. 2. Our issues list format is unwieldy. Peter Brown developed & presented a much better alternative and will follow up with Don. 3. A very effective triage and ranking process was undertaken to prioritize our "big" issues. The resultant conversations helped us to all get on the same page, and drop a lot of things from consideration for the RM, and were dropped down to the RA parking lot. 4. As a result of (3), we came up with a new, rough TOC. See: http:// www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/soa-rm/download.php/13741/New% 20SOARM%20TOC.doc 5. We decided to tighten up the editing team a little bit, since there is less to do now, and we noticed that some editors had relatively small sections that could easily be covered by one of the core editors. The editing team is: Matt, Peter, Rebekah, Ken and Frank. Other editors, please don't take this personally. You all did a great job. This restructuring makes sense now that we have tightened our scope quite a bit, and we hope that you guys will be able to help us on the RA and proofreading tasks. 6. We don't want to waste TC cycles on grammar, spelling and obvious consistency issues, so now we have a formal proofreading team: Al, Peter, Prasanta and Michael. Editors will seed this team with advance copies of editor drafts for proofreading. Other members are welcome to join this effort, but be aware: The editing team expects turn-around within a couple of days. This is a serious and important job! 7. We wish to hold an editors meeting within the next 4 weeks. Possibly at Adobe San Jose, or Fujitsu. 8. Prasanta has offered to be caretaker of the RA parking lot, which involves keeping materials and information that we think will live in the RA well organized and in context so we can switch to RA development easily when we have the RM far enough along. So this is everything I can remember. If anyone has anything to add, please reply to this. Questions are, of course, also welcome. Best Regards, Matt
