Subject: SOA for eGov: Panel on Reference Model, Standards, and Specifications
All – I wanted to forward along the overview presentation for a
panel on Reference Models, Standards and Specifications as part of the SOA for
eGov conference held last week in The panel consisted of two parts: (1) An overview
presentation on Tuesday afternoon. This presentation focused on the key
concepts of the Reference Model and how standards, protocols and specifications
relate. (2) Three
panelists during 1.5 hour session on Wednesday morning. Each panelist
discussed their experience using a reference model, standards and
specifications as part of SOA. The panel was well received and many folks were very excited
to see examples of how all these pieces fit together as part of SOA. Several
members of the audience expressed their anticipation for the completion of more
concrete work of the RA sub-committee. As an interesting side note: the most common question I
received after the presentation focused on “How to tell the difference
between a SOA built in accordance with the Reference Model and one which is not.”
The slides that I used are attached. Many thanks to the TC
for producing a solid body of work and in particular to Ken Laskey for some
excellent content that I used in this presentation Rebekah Rebekah Associate Booz Allen Hamilton Voice: (703) 377-1471 Fax: (703) 902-3457 |
