Subject: Re: [soa-rm] SOA XML.org

Carol,

I don't know when they "expressed interest", but there has been no activity in the Blueprints TC for at least 6 months (last email on list in April, last telecon was long before that) so a "broad approach" would still only be SOA-RM.

Matt,
I apologize if that document gave the impression the project would be overly
labor intensive or that TC members would be responsible for finding funding
(OASIS staff will take care of that end).

Members from the OASIS SOA Adoption Blueprints TC have also expressed interest
in an SOA XML.org site, so if we take a broad approach to the site's topic,
much of the work can be distributed. I will discuss the project further with
them and other related TCs and keep you apprised of the plans.

Thanks,
Carol

Carol,

I think I'll just fund/operate the soa-rm.org site myself for now, with
editorial oversight being provided by interested members of our TC.  I don't
have the time or inclination to deal with the process you guys seem to have
for these XML.org focus areas, or the funding that seems to be expected.
Also, SOA has nothing to do with XML...so I'm not sure the association of
SOA-RM to XML.org is something that we want to make.

Thanks for the help though, perhaps we'll look at porting to an OASIS
managed site later on.

Regards,
Matt

SOA-RM TC:
I've attached a document (in ODF and PDF formats) that contains more
information on creating an XML.org site. I'd be happy to walk everyone
through
the process at your convenience. In the meantime, as I said, OASIS staff
will
work to get the Drupal framework for the site in place.

Best regards,
Carol

Carol,

We would be.  I'm hosting it myself right now, and I'd rather not be
responsible for it :-)  I'm an expert with Drupal, so it would be great if I
could have access to the themes and modules directory during the initial
setup period.  I'd also point soa-rm.org at the installation.

Matt,
OASIS would be happy to set up a Drupal site on XML.org for SOA, similar to
the
ones we have for DITA (http://dita.xml.org) and OpenDocument
(http://opendocument.xml.org). I'd be happy to provide details if this is of
interest to the TC.

Group:

I have reserved soa-rm.org (actually, I did it a while ago).  Is anyone
interested in building up a site around SOA-RM?  I can host it on a content
management system (drupal), so that a group of us can conveniently author
content (including blogs) if anyone is interested let me know and perhaps
we'll kick around some ideas on what we want on the site.

Thanks,
Matt
