About The SOA Consortium

The SOA Consortium is an exciting new initiative of the Object Management Group to create a community of peers focused on advocacy for service-oriented architecture. OMG, through the SOA Consortium, is building an advocacy group of end users, service providers and technology vendors committed to helping the Global 1000 successfully adopt Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) by 2010. The SOA Consortium is driven by end-user needs to leverage the Service Orientation approach to build agile enterprises – organizations able to recognize, catalog, reuse and reconfigure business processes as requirements and value chains change.

The SOA Consortium’s mission is to drive business agility via Service Oriented Architecture to allow businesses to compete, innovate and thrive. The Consortium will enhance adoption of SOA by sharing information, best practices, and success stories, by defining reference architectures, and by providing guidance to vendors as to where to strengthen their products and standards. The organization is focusing its efforts both on the executive suite and practitioners such as enterprise and domain architects.

We look forward to seeing you in San Diego!

Best regards,

Richard Mark Soley, Ph.D.
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Object Management Group
