Subject: RE: [soa-rm] Fw: That vision thing: SOA Reference Architecture
IMHO… if a vendor paper mentions the RM or RA, we should
comment – diplomatically – on it. If it’s just some
marketing stuff, ignore it. Why comment? Well, people will google…and if they
see us endorsing appropriate use of our standard(s), then the vendors win and
we’ve proven in a roundabout way that supporting standards is a good
thing. If the paper skews, misinterprets or disparages our work, we
should feel comfortable discussing or blogging about the issue as long as we keep
it collegial. -matt From: Jeffrey A. Estefan
[mailto:jeffrey.a.estefan@jpl.nasa.gov] Colleagues, I suggest we tone down our
personal opinions regarding vendors and vendor-oriented solutions as this forum
is open to OASIS members, which clearly includes vendors. This is,
afterall, an industry consortia. When it comes time to ask these very
same vendors to ratify our public draft specifications, we will want them on
our side. Cheers... - Jeff E. |
