Subject: Possible new work items for TC?
Hi, I have been looking at both the 2011 NIST Cloud Computing Reference Architecture, http://www.nist.gov/customcf/get_pdf.cfm?pub_id=909505
and the current draft (and out for public review) of the Cloud Computing Security reference Architecture, Given the various discussions in NIST, in JTC 1/SC38, in ETSI (Cloud Standards Coordination project) around cloud and (to us at least) the self-evident fact that cloud represents the SOA paradigm at its most extreme but nonetheless most
obvious – I am wondering whether it would have value (and traction) to kick off a new work item within the TC to map the SOA-RM and RAF core concepts to the most prominent cloud reference architecture? It would certainly be within scope – the real issue is
whether enough of us have the stamina to see that through… My gut feeling is that there is clear value for all concerned and it might help some who feel that they are going round the houses in cloud discussions of issues already addressed within our SOA work. Thoughts?
