Subject: Re: [soa-rm] SOA and Cloud

I have seen diagrams like this in other places and did a quick one when I needed it.

Attachment: PastedGraphic-1.pdf
Description: Adobe PDF document

One could argue that services above (red) and below (below) the line can be SOA services but I expect some of the blue-below may be optimized in ways that don’t adhere to SOA principles in areas where ownership boundaries are minimized.  However, I believe that the red-above is more likely SOA services as the primary way to expose the Consumer’s business.  I also expect that crossing the line is SOA services.

Others with additional facts and other interpretations?

Ken

Can anyone recommend a concise summary of the relationship between service-oriented architecture and Cloud computing?

Also, is virtualization just an enabler (of the Cloud's elasticityattribute, for example) or something more?

Thanks,

Martin
