Description
This is a thought piece for consideration and possible future action by
this TC.

The document explores the concepts of coarse and fine-grained interfaces
and services. The idea of fine-grained vs. coarse-grained services and
interfaces has long been a tagline of service oriented architecture (SOA).
However, the literature has little in the way of substantive guidance as to
what the terms mean and how to make use of them.
