During one of our recent discussions, I stated an opinion that reducing semantic engagement, as defined in the SOA RM, enabled looser coupling and the structure of the service interface affected semantic engagement. For our next meeting, I’d like people to think about
(1) how does design of service interfaces affect the degree of semantic engagement?

(2) what besides semantic engagement can show up in the service interface and affect the degree of coupling and the amount of granularity?

(3) without necessarily a metric for interface granularity, can we state attributes that make it more or less granular?

I am in a training course today and tomorrow, so I will send out the meeting announcement after I see the course schedule. I may delay the meeting start — stay tuned.
