Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (TAG-4) TAML Public Comment:Better Upfront Example and XML Depiction

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/TAG-4?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=19253#action_19253 ]

Dennis Hamilton commented on TAG-4:
-----------------------------------

Although we discussed Compact RNG in the 2010-05-11 call, I also just saw this example of an informal description in the W3C XML Encryption Core document:, <http://www.w3.org/TR/xmlenc-core/#sec-Overview>:

"Expressed in shorthand form, the EncryptedData element has the following structure (where "?" denotes zero or one occurrence; "+" denotes one or more occurrences; "*" denotes zero or more occurrences; and the empty element tag means the element must be empty ):

  <EncryptedData Id? Type? MimeType? Encoding?>
    <EncryptionMethod/>?
    <ds:KeyInfo>
      <EncryptedKey>?
      <AgreementMethod>?
      <ds:KeyName>?
      <ds:RetrievalMethod>?
      <ds:*>?
    </ds:KeyInfo>?
    <CipherData>
      <CipherValue>?
      <CipherReference URI?>?
    </CipherData>
    <EncryptionProperties>?
  </EncryptedData>
"

I notice they used a wildcard in one of the element names too (<ds:*>).

> This public comment, made on 2010-04-14, is not stated as specific to one of the three TAG documents:
> <http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/tag-comment/201004/msg00000.html>.
> The request is for a good example up front and for a better way of depicting the XML. That seems to be about the TAML specification.
