Thanks to all of you who tried to help me.
I did have the obviously correct code. I did get through to the
teleconference bridge which asked me to enter the code, I am definitely
certain that I did enter it correctly (at least at the third try I was
**really** making certain), and I did enter the # at the end. But invariably
I was informed that my access code was invalid. 
I am looking forward to the minutes and to the next call (with hopefully
better luck on my side).

Sorry Harm-Jan can't join us.  I've also heard from some other members that
this is a bad day for them to participate.  Could be a short meeting if we
don't get enough people.  I'll be unable to take the minutes today as I'll
be (once again) doing this meeting from the car.  Can someone offer to take
the notes today?  Just let me know when we start the meeting later at 4:00
EST.  Talk to you then.
